Extremely Rare 1951 Filson Red-Black-White Single Back Mackinaw Coat SZ 46 | Vintage Filson Peppermint Patty Alternate | Vintage Workwear Seattle

One of the rarest Filson pieces ever produced, this Red-Black-White Filson Single Back Mackinaw Coat was produced for only one year, in 1951, and while the material was used to produce the standard Mackinaw Cruiser with the rear map pocket, the Single Back Mackinaw Coat, also known as style 118, was it's own creation that lacked the wool layer for the map pocket and also had hand warmer pockets which was cutting edge technology back in 1951.  Unlike it's counterpart, the Peppermint Patty, this colorway did not have a later run in the 1960's, meaning this is a rare, rare bird. 

Overall the coat is in remarkably good condition. The only flaw of note is a small hole on the pocket on the lower right.  This could be easily fixed for free by Filson as part of their lifetime repair guarantee. Otherwise the coat is in a good a condition as the day it rolled off the production floor back in 1951.
